 in Queenscliff do before television and the coffee shops?  An eight-session course will draw on the resources of the
 
Queenscliff Museum to look at the buildings, the clothes, the entertainments, and education in the Borough, using
 
documents, photographs, and the personal recollections of residents to flesh out the human and physical story of the
 
borough's development.

In this course we will examine the history of Scotland in episodic form. We will concentrate attention upon significant
 
turning points rather than a chronological sequence. Such significant episodes include mission of St Columba in 563, the
 
nation-building efforts of Kenneth McAlpin and King Duncan, the golden age under Alexander I and II, and the origins of
 
the blood feud with the English. Subsequently, the role of nationalism becomes paramount with attention to "The Bruce",
 
Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots etc.  If possible, we will also examine the Jacobites , the "Highland Clearances" and the

look at their lifecycle and famous eruptions both historic and more recent.  We will cover volcanoes in Australia and
