This course is an introduction to the Ancient Egyptian civilization.  Classes are essentially audio-visual in format with a
 
high level of empathy and cultural tolerance.  In the core study we will be tracing the archaeological history of the
 
Pharonic Egypt from unification in c.3200 BC through to the Greek conquest by Alexander in 323 BC.  Areas of
 
concentration include the pyramid age, the imperial period, Tutankhamun and daily life.  Digressions may be necessary
 
for no reason except interest, and hopefully these will include examination of aspects of individual student preference.

conclusion of the play-reading, we view and discuss a B.B.C.  Televised production of the play.
